Destination: Cape Vidal

print

North of St Lucia town, Cape Vidal is approached through a tall forest famous for dainty duikers and chameleons. This beautiful coastal resort in iSimangaliso Wetland Park has a beach that goes on forever and offers great swimming and snorkelling. In the right season, you can hang out in the dunes to watch whales and egg-laying turtles. Cape Vidal is a fishing hotspot and its warm clear water and perfectly formed waves make for great sea kayaking. Cape Vidal Camp is an old favourite among holidaymakers and the Eastern Shores Reserve which surrounds it has forested dune and lakeshore habitats that are good for game viewing. Apart from a profusion of reedbucks, kudus, waterbucks and smaller antelopes - especially red duikers - you can spot white rhino and buffalo.
