How to dress for Rocking the Daisies

Posted on 8 October 2010

Just because you’re camping at a music festival doesn’t mean you have to look like a camper.

1. Layers are great for festivals. Dress in layers and you’ll have all weather conditions sorted.

2. Boots, boots, boots. Can’t go wrong with boots at a festival. It gets muddy and rainy. You don’t want to get trench foot.

3. Bright colours and loud prints work well. You’re at a festival to have fun. Dress like you mean to.

4. Accessories are your friends. Don’t neglect them. Layer them up, go a little hippy and always have something pretty around your neck.

5. Have the right handbag. Don’t use the boring black one you take into the office every day. You need an over the shoulder slouch bag, or a really practical (but funky) moonbag type-thing. (Note that I say type-thing – this does not mean you can wear an actual moonbag. They are not cool).

6. This is one of the only times that you can wear a headband and get away with it.

7. Big sunglasses are essential for looking really cool and hiding your dark bags when you’re hungover and surviving on an hour of sleep.

8. Playsuits are comfortable and a practical way to do shorts at a festival. Accessorise with gladiator sandals, a long necklace and glasses.

9. Harem pants are another festival essential. They look hippyish and work well in bright colours matched with strappy tops.

10. A bright, floaty dress worn with sandals or boots is an unfaultable festival outfit. Just don’t forget the accessories.
