While spending a night at the Tlopi tented camp in Marakele National Park, I woke up before dawn on a chilly May morning. Going out on the wooded terrasse on stilts, I could hear someone foraging under my feet. I took my camera in hand and went down. A bushbuck ewe was here, staring at me. To my surprise, she did no run away, but went on browsing around our tent, allowing me to take a lot of close range pictures. I've converted this one into sepia to emphasize the atmosphere of undergrowth.
