Rudi van den Heever was photographing the thousands of doves at the Cubitje Quap waterhole in Kgalagadi Trans- frontier Park, when this lanner falcon struck gold by catching one. The falcon was ripping the dove to pieces and enjoying its breakfast when the goshawk suddenly appeared in his viewfinder, adding an extra chaotic element to this extraordinarily dramatic story.
