Maldives-inspired resort in 2022 in UAE

Posted on 9 November 2020

A new resort inspired by the Maldives will be opening up in the northernmost emirate of the United Arab Emirates in 2022.

Much like everything else in the UAE, it plans to spare no expense for luxury.

The Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort will be an overwater eco-sanctuary, which is an interesting twist for a country which has exploded in wealth and popularity thanks to its oil production.

No expense will be spared.

The resort is part of the new Mina Al Arab luxury development, a beachfront playground with a marina, waterfront cafes and boutiques, the resort offers 300 guest rooms, suites and overwater villas.

While you can stay and dine over the water, you’re also not that fair from bustling Dubai, at only 45 minutes drive away. The desert is also nearby and the mountain peak of Jebel Jais.

Although still under production, the resort will have 300 guest rooms, an Asian overwater restaurant, a beach and pool bar, a spa, water sports, an eco-learning centre and a 1,200-sqm ballroom.

A key feature of the resort’s sustainability initiatives is that of mangroves. It has created a mangrove management plan that will ensure these natural habitats are protected and celebrated.
