Just to do a quick update, we are now reaching our last week here in Japan, after having spent two days coming over here on board a very large ship from Vladivostock to Toyama.
We have met with some amazing people and had a look at some incredible projects so far, from Greenpeace and the whaling issues in Japan, to the International Fund for Animal Welfare which seeks to educate the general public on marine conservation issues in Japan – not an easy task when the last time this was performed people were arrested or boycotted by the government. And of course paying numerous visits to the Tsikiji fish market, the worlds largest fishing market!
It’s been a real education in every sense of the word, but we have been fortunate to have great help in the form of some amazing ex-Saffers here in Tokyo. Peter and his family, amazing Ed and Jonno and his family and beach house have taken us in and looked after us like our own families would, it’s been such a pleasure!
We look to be heading into China in the next week, after we load Johnny into a shipping create to be sent to Dubai, sniff, which means for the next two months we will be lugging around a lot of equipment, through China, Vietnam and India – wish us luck!
