De Hoop Collection offers 50% discount for stays during beach clean-up

De Hoop Collection, Morukuru Beach Lodge and CapeNature are hosting a beach clean-up weekend at the De Hoop Nature Reserve from 27 to 29 May.

William Stephens, owner of De Hoop Collection said there will be a 50% discount on stays for guests who are willing to be a part of the activities. The area that will be covered is from Koppie Alleen to Skipskop. CapeNature will provide black bags and gloves.

The accommodation on offer for the weekend at De Hoop Collection includes four or six sleeper cottages for R1 450 per person or suites for one to two people at R3 400 per person. These rates include two nights of accommodation, two breakfasts, two dinners and a packed lunch on Saturday. It is a minimum stay of two nights.

Morukuru Beach Lodge is offering a suite for one to two guests at R2 900 per person per night sharing. This includes accommodation, all meals and soft drinks. The five suites can accommodate a maximum of ten guests.

To qualify for the special rate guests must commit to the clean-up on Friday from 4 pm, and full-day clean-up on Saturday. Own transport is to be used to and from Koppie Alleen.

Morukuru Beach Lodge will provide a packed lunch for guests on Saturday 28 May, while De Hoop Collection will provide a boma dinner at 6 pm that evening for guests. If guests participate in a clean-up on Sunday, Morukuru Beach Lodge will provide a packed lunch at R150 per person. Transport will be provided for Morukuru Beach Lodge guests to and from De Hoop Collection for the boma dinner.

The general manager of Morukuru Beach Lodge, Trevor van Laun noted the importance of these cleanups. ‘Like anywhere in the world, sea debris and litter wash up on our shores. With beach clean-up weekends such as this one, we can make a difference to ensure our beaches remain as pristine as possible.’
