Cycle from New York to Canada on this epic 1207km long trail

A cycling route spanning 1207km has opened between New York and Canada. While Americans are unable to cross the border currently, they are able to get to it via bike or on foot.

Development of the Empire State Trail began in 2017 and it is now finished. It has connected two existing trails together, along with creating 563km of new path, which connect near Albany.

The trail consists of three sections. The Hudson Valley Greenway links New York City to Albany. The Erie Canalway Trail, situated between Buffalo and Albany.

The third is the Champlain Valley Trail, between the Capital District and the Canadian border of south Montreal.

Nine million people are predicted to visit the trail annually, according to Lonely Planet.
