Starting Wednesday, 20 December 2023, at Kirstenbosch Garden, “Last Christmas” promises a delightful romantic comedy-drama experience.

The following day, on Thursday, 21 December 2023, “The Family Stone” brings a touching family drama to the screen, suitable for viewers aged 10 and up. As Christmas Eve approaches, there’s no better way to get into the festive spirit than by joining in the fun for a special screening featuring the heart-warming holiday classic “Home Alone”. In this touching film suitable for all ages, viewers will follow the adventures of eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who finds himself home alone during a family vacation where he must protect his home from two bumbling burglars.

Both this screening and the Christmas Day main feature of “The Grinch” have a little extra sprinkling of magic added to them. Both special movie screenings are elevated thanks to themed decor, candy canes and Santa hats, a hearty helping of popcorn, a backrest and a blanket for all, ensuring supreme comfort, perfect for those post-sunset family cuddles. The celebrations continue into Christmas Day, where Kirstenbosch delivers the perfect backdrop to unforgettable holiday memories and perhaps even a new holiday tradition. Known as “Dr. Seuss The Grinch,” this 2018 American computer-animated Christmas comedy film will make everyone’s hearts swell with holiday cheer.

From love stories to family reunions and heart-warming adventures, the December movie schedule caters to everyone in the family, from the youngest to the oldest film buffs. Doors open at 6 pm, and before the movie begins, be sure to partake in giant lawn games, greet fellow movie lovers and spread the Christmas love. Forget any slaving over a hot stove this festive period and rather indulge in the on-site mini-market, where you’re able to indulge in mouth-watering pizza, juicy burgers and tasty wraps. After all, calories don’t count on Christmas!

Try the bar and barista services, where you can sip back and relax. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and Halaal options are available. Early booking for special screenings is recommended. See the full December line-up here.
