Dog saves Limpopo girl from hyena

A seven-year-old girl from Limpopo was attacked in her home by a hyena.

Netwerk24 reported that the hyena dragged the little girl by her foot outside her home. It was at this moment that the family dog – a Belgian Shepherd – appeared to run frantically toward the children’s bedroom.

By the time the young girl’s mother stepped outside the house to investigate, the hyena had already dragged her approximately 20 metres into the nearby bushes.

She tried to ward off the hyena by holding her breath to appear dead, but despite her best efforts, the hyena did not let go of her foot until the family dog descended upon him, ultimately saving her life.

She was promptly taken to the hospital and is currently being treated for her injuries.
