The report showed that over 635,000 travellers went through South African entry ports in March and 140,000 of them indicated that they were on holiday and the rest on a business trip, study or medical treatment.

Over 2,700 Americans, more than 2,000 Germans and over 1,700 travellers from the United Kingdom were welcomed into the country.

More travellers travelled from France, India, China, Netherlands and most visitors from surrounding African countries – Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia.

A total of almost 9,000 tourists travelled from Europe.

214,000 out of the 635,000 travellers were South Africans coming back into the country.
