Support the underdogs of conservation and pledge to Run for Rangers

Thanda Safari, in partnership with the Sports for Lives movement and Project Rhino will host a fundraising marathon from 8 to 10 July 2022.

The marathon, Run for Rangers, was inspired by Harry Bailey, a high school learner in KZN with a passion for wildlife conservation and an admiration for the underdogs of conservation – field rangers. The goals of the marathon are to create awareness and raise funds for rangers to help them with training K9 units, aerial support, community education as well as rangers’ families.

Bailey will be running a 100km stretch of Thanda Safari’s Big 5 territory, alongside Thanda Anti-Poaching Rangers. Bailey challenges the public to pledge to sponsor R1000 collectively per completed kilometre, with the overall goal of raising R100 000 in total.

While on the run, Bailey aims to get to know the rangers escorting him. Keegan Daniel, Rory Steyn and Chris Kingsley will be participating.

David Henning, a junior writer for Getaway will also participate in the race.

The race is not open to the public, but you can make your pledge by following this link.
