The name Svart, meaning black in Norwegian, is a direct tribute to the dark blue ice of the Svartisen glacier. In old Norse, the word for black and blue is the same, and the hotel’s name is a reference to the natural heritage of the ancient Svartisen glacier and its precious natural surroundings. 📷 Snøhetta/Plompmozes #svart #snohetta #snøhetta #northernnorway #visitnorway #visitbodo #tourism #glacier #norway #norge #nature #sustainability #travel #adventuretravel #miriseiendom #arcticadventure #arcticadventureofnorway

The hotel will be located in the Meløy municipality, some 1,300km north of Oslo. The word “svart” is Norwegian for “black”, a reference to the dark ice of the glacier and the inspiration for the hotel’s name.

The building will be a complete circle, in order for guests to have panoramic views of the fjord.
