Össur South Africa has launched its 2026 What’s Your Epic? campaign, a nationwide call to support mobility access, inclusion and the belief that movement should belong to everyone.

With the world’s spotlight turning to the Cape Epic from 15 to 22 March 2026, the organisation is using the moment to rally South Africans behind three non-profits changing lives through mobility.

This year, Össur has entered three amputee teams into the Cape Epic, pairing six extraordinary athletes whose stories represent courage, possibility and the power of accessible movement. Their race is only one part of the mission.

The bigger goal is to raise funds and awareness for Jumping Kids, Rejuvenate SA and Zimele, three organisations restoring independence and dignity to people living with limb loss or physical disabilities.

“Movement is a fundamental right,” says Blignaut Knoetze, Managing Director of Össur South Africa. “Whether it’s an athlete pushing for a finish line, a child receiving their first prosthetic or an adult learning to rebuild independence, mobility opens doors to participation and potential. What’s Your Epic? is an invitation for South Africans to help make that freedom possible.”

The organisations behind the campaign

Jumping Kids

A programme providing prostheses, education access and sport opportunities to children with limb loss, empowering them to build confident, future-focused lives.

Rejuvenate SA

An organisation driven by the belief that movement is a basic human right. Rejuvenate SA supplies mobility aids to people who cannot afford them, restoring dignity and independence.

Zimele

Meaning “independence” in Xhosa, Zimele supports adults with physical disabilities through reintegration, skills development and pathways to economic self-sufficiency.

Brian (40, Springs) has rebuilt his life through mountain biking and uses sport as a platform for giving back. He partners with Rudi (42, Secunda), a determined amputee athlete known for his positivity, community focus and passion for raising funds for mobility access.

“These riders are not just racing,” says Knoetze. “They are raising their voices for those who cannot and shining a light on organisations that restore independence and hope.”

How South Africans can be part of the movement

The public, corporates and communities are encouraged to support the campaign through donations, partnerships, fundraising initiatives or simply by sharing the message. Every contribution helps someone walk, run, work, play or dream again.
