Where light becomes art: Spier Light Art 2026

📍 Spier Wine Farm
The eighth edition of Spier Light Art transforms the Stellenbosch farm into a walkable night-time exhibition of contemporary light installations.
Curated by Vaughn Sadie and Jay Pather, this year’s open-call selection brings together 21 South African artists alongside Swiss artists Florian Bach and Kerim Seiler. Expect neon text works, immersive projections, sculptural interventions and layered sound pieces engaging themes of climate change, infrastructure, social memory and post-apartheid identity.
There is no fixed route. Visitors wander vineyards and river paths at their own pace. Entry is free, with sunset picnics bookable via Dineplan.
Bazique Festival

Three days of electronic music, performance art and immersive camping unfold at Bazique Festival. Mountain backdrops, forest stages and costume culture define this creative gathering.
