“Please be aware that there are extended delays at security gates due to recent operational changes at the airport,” FlySafair said.
For those travelling light, the airline suggests checking in online to skip the counter and head straight to security.
“If you are travelling with hand luggage only, we recommend checking in online and proceeding directly to security. Allow extra time to get through the queue.”

For passengers with checked luggage, additional time should be factored in after check-in to navigate the longer security process and make it to the boarding gate on time.
“If you have checked baggage, please factor in additional time after check-in to clear security and reach your boarding gate comfortably.”
“Arrive earlier than usual to ensure a smooth journey. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
While no timeline has been given for how long the delays will last, FlySafair is urging travellers to stay updated and prepare for extended queues.
