Cameron Watt, who is a member of the SANParks – Kruger National Park page on Facebook was out in the Kruger when he spotted a Kudu with unusual white patches on its back.

He captured images of the kudu and asked other members of the group whether they had ever seen anything like it before. While many were amazed at how uniquely beautiful it is, others got creative with their imaginations.

Jokingly, the possibility of it being a crossbreed of both a Nyala and a Kudu was thrown around in the comment section under the images.

Another popular response was that the Kudu is partially leucistic, which is the most likely reason.

Leucism is a condition that results in the partial or total loss of pigmentation, which can make the animal have white or patchily coloured skin, fur or feathers.
