The phenomenon, caused by bioluminescence, the emission of light during a chemiluminescence reaction by living organisms, transformed the choppy waves into a glowing spectacle on Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday morning, as Christoff Theunissen revealed via Facebook.
