In a compelling display of teamwork and quick action, the Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) crews, along with members of the Table Mountain National Park Rangers, successfully rescued a 36-year-old local hiker who suffered injuries while navigating the rugged terrain of Lion’s Head.

The incident occurred on Saturday as the hiker was making her way down towards the Signal Hill Kramat, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The hiker, who slipped and hurt herself during the descent, was quickly attended to by a paramedic from Western Cape Government Health and Wellness EMS.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, the rescuers meticulously prepared her for transport, utilising a stretcher fitted with the advanced Cascade Rescue Company Terra Tamer stretcher wheel.
This innovative equipment enabled the rescuers to move efficiently, reducing the time it took to carry the injured hiker down the steep and challenging landscape.
As efforts progressed, the dedicated team ensured that the hiker received the necessary medical attention before she was successfully handed over to an ambulance. Subsequently, she was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for further care and recovery.
The rescue operation concluded shortly before 3pm, marking another successful collaboration among rescue teams in the region. ‘We thank all teams involved for their coordinated effort and wish the injured hiker a speedy recovery,’ stated WSAR, showcasing their commitment to both community safety and effective rescue operations.
