The Cliffside Mountain Coaster situated on Mt. Va Hoevenberg at Salt Lake in New York is the latest adrenaline pumping craze. The 2.2km-long track was built to recreate an Olympic bobsled experience, as the coaster runs alongside real bobsled tracks used in the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Mike Pratt, CEO and President of the Olympic Regional Development Authority, said: ‘The coaster follows the alignment of the 1932 & 1980 Olympic Bobsled track as it descends the mountain. The views are amazing, and the curves get your heart pounding,’ according to The Matador Network.

Visitors will control their own speed when driving a bobsled while listening to audio commentary about the1980 Winter Olympics and the history of bobsledding.

This coaster is the longest of its kind in the United States.

‘This revitalization is transforming the complex into a year-round provider of excitement and entertainment for both athletes and families, which will attract more summer visitors and provide a critical boost to local businesses as we work to build back better,’ explained New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in a statement.
