According to Tourism Update, the updated prices will take effect on 12 December 2025 and are aimed at supporting rising operational costs and continued investment in visitor facilities.

According to the revised tariff structure for the 2025 to 2026 season, foreign travellers will see an increase of about fifteen percent. South African and SADC visitors will pay around seven percent more. One example is the popular all access ticket for the Blyde River Canyon, which includes a full day of entry to all official viewpoints along the Panorama Route. The ticket now costs R161 for South African citizens, R203 for SADC visitors and R385 for international travellers.

The agency noted that fees have remained lower than many comparable protected areas in the country. The new pricing aims to bring tariffs closer to actual running costs while helping to fund ongoing improvements.

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency added that the increased revenue will support future upgrades, routine maintenance and the development of new tourism experiences at its reserves.

Travellers planning a visit in the coming months are encouraged to check the updated prices and plan accordingly.
