Radisson Blu Berlin’s giant aquarium with 1 500 fish has burst

A giant aquarium in Berlin’s Radisson Blu hotel called “The AquaDom” has burst, releasing 1 million litres of water and about 1 500 fish.

The 15.85m high fish tank was the largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium in the world, reports BBC. Two people were injured by the glass, but no fatalities have been reported.

The cause of the burst is unknown, though some say the recent weather – which saw unusually low temperatures – might have played a role.

It is reported that barely any of the fish could be saved.
