In August 2025, The Ritz-Carlton will unveil its first safari property in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara — a new addition to Africa’s high-end lodge landscape.
Set along the banks of the Sand River, the Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp will blend the Ritz’ signature refinement with the raw power of one of the world’s most spectacular ecosystems.
Perfectly timed to coincide with the Great Migration, the new camp offers what few others can: front-row seats to river crossings (without disrupting the wildlife), Big Five sightings and golden savannah views — all while enjoying five-star service and curated luxury.

What to expect at the Masai Mara safari camp
Designed to blend seamlessly into its natural surroundings, the camp will feature 21 luxury tented suites, each elevated among the treetops with panoramic views of the Sand River and surrounding plains. Suites start at 163 square metres, offering a level of space, privacy and comfort few camps can match.
Guests will enjoy private guided game drives in open-air luxury Land Cruisers, hot air balloon safaris at dawn, and intimate dining experiences in the bush.
The camp also boasts a photography studio equipped with professional Canon gear, a wellness centre, savannah-view pool, and gym, with all facilities powered by solar energy and designed using locally sourced materials.
A signature feature is ‘The Call of Dusk’, a daily sunset ritual where guests gather to witness a Masai horn sounded by a Moran in full regalia, followed by storytelling, Kenyan tea, and sacred olorien wood burning in a moment that bridges day and night.
The experience is rooted in East African heritage, with guests hosted by Maasai Encholiek, a traditional concept of personal service that adds cultural richness and authenticity.
The property is also deeply focused on sustainability, harvesting rainwater, minimising its footprint, and preserving the biodiversity of the area.
Located near the Kenya–Tanzania Border Stone, the camp places travellers at the confluence of the Masai Mara and Serengeti, two of Africa’s greatest reserves.
