Take a trip down memory lane with Airbnb’s latest rental opportunity. The American vacation rental company is now offering up the chance to rent the world’s last Blockbuster store in existence, for a limited time only.

The store is located in Bend, Oregon and has been run by manager Sandi Harding since 2004. Harding has now listed the store on Airbnb for limited rental opportunities in appreciation of all that the local community has recently done to support the last-of-its-kind amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Our Blockbuster store is open because of the incredible local community in Bend, and we’ve been grateful to have the support of those beyond our town as the coronavirus pandemic has impacted our business,’ reads the Airbnb listing.
‘Starting August 17 at 1 p.m. PST on Airbnb, Deschutes County residents can call dibs on (aka book) a totally rad, yet intimate slumber party at the world’s last Blockbuster store by requesting to book one of the three individual, one-night reservations that will take place on September 18, 19 and 20,’ Airbnb announced in a a statement.
The cost to rent out this space for a night is a mere $4 (R70), excluding taxes and fees.

The store has been converted into a 90s-inspired sleepover paradise, complete with a pull-out couch, bean bags and pillows for you to lounge on as you watch your favourite movies. All guests who book should adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines around wearing masks and social distancing in a public space.
This opportunity is only open to Deschutes County residents who come from the same household to minimize risk of contracting COVID-19. The store will be cleaned and prepared in accordance with CDC guidelines and consistent with the Airbnb enhanced cleaning protocol.
