The Private House Company has introduced Night Shopping, a monthly evening experience at its showroom at 55 Main Street, Newlands. The initiative will take place on the first Thursday of each month during the summer season, giving visitors the chance to explore its collection of furniture, décor and carefully selected interior pieces after hours.
Between 17:00 and 20:00, the showroom will trade its usual daytime atmosphere for a warmer, more intimate setting, with candlelight creating a relaxed backdrop for an evening of browsing.
Founder Yvonne O’Brien says the idea is about offering customers more than simply extra shopping hours. It is an opportunity to experience the showroom differently, take their time exploring the collection and connect with the local community.
With Christmas around the corner, the evenings also arrive at a useful time for anyone looking for thoughtful gifts, ideas for entertaining or fresh inspiration for their home. Visitors will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of wine, making it an easy after-work stop or an opportunity to catch up with friends.
The first two Night Shopping evenings are scheduled for Thursday, 5 November, and Thursday, 3 December 2026, from 17:00 to 20:00.
