5 vibey weekend markets in Pretoria

Posted on 27 October 2022 By Anita Froneman

With the return to normal after lockdown, one of the things I’m most excited about is weekend markets in Pretoria. There are two types of market-goers. The first is the early birds, who grab their coffees at the market after running a 10k. They strut around in their activewear, making those of us in the second category feel slightly guilty for tucking into a waffle. The latter type of marketeer rises nowhere before 9 am on a weekend, and the market brunch is a solid tradition before a lazy morning of strolling around.

Either way, craft and food markets are a happy conglomeration of everything for everyone. They have a laid-back vibe, food that you can’t find anywhere else, and locally-made products with a personal touch.

Here are five of our favourite weekend markets in Pretoria for the Gautengers in need of a break this weekend.
