International theatres worth visiting

The evolution of performing arts has seen many theatres being built across the world. Over the years, some have since been destroyed and others forgotten.

However, some are still standing firm today and host a number of renowned and talented artists. They also continue to draw in a large number of tourists and art lovers.

When travelling internationally, adding a theatre show to your itinerary is not a bad idea. Here are some theatres across the world which are worth visiting:

Tokyo Opera City, Japan

The Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall offers different and memorable theatre experiences. There are regular events which are held that feature top local and international talent. Opera recitals are also regularly held, as well as ballet shows. Moreover, you can enjoy classical music shows rendered by visiting orchestras. If you are into exhibitions, the venue is also home to a gallery where art is regularly exhibited.

Radio City Music Hall, United States

Radio City Music Hall is a historic venue which boasts unmatched elegance. The colossal theatre was initially built to be an inspiration during the tumultuous times of the Great Depression. As such, it has offered consolation to many during hard times.

Today, the theatre stands as one of New York’s prime tourist attractions. It hosts a number of regular must-see shows.

Sydney Opera House, Australia

The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre which is nothing short of aesthetically pleasing. The architectural masterpiece is regarded as one of the world’s most famous and distinctive buildings.

The theatre hosts approximately 1 500 performances each year in its multiple venues. The shows are attended by 1.2 million people annually. When in Australia, it is a must-visit theatre if you desire to witness brilliant shows.

Royal Albert Hall, United Kingdom

Situated on the northern edge of South Kensington, the Royal Albert Hall is one of the best theatres in England. It has a seating capacity of over 5000, and has been graced by leading artists from many performance genres.

Royal Albert Hall is a great venue for BBC Proms concerts which have been held every summer since 1941. The theatre also hosts more than 390 shows each year, including rock and pop concerts, ballet shows and opera film screenings.
