We love timelapses here at Getaway, but often our focus is on the natural world: the Northern Lights, Moroccan landscapes, or Iceland in summer. These videos show something a bit different: the beauty of a large city. The sweeping shots, the slow fades of sunset and sunrise, and the buzz of humanity combine to give you a sense of what it would be like to live there.

The video styles are surprisingly similar, though (from what I’ve heard) Chicago and Manhattan are very, very different places. Which would you prefer to visit?
