From 3–12 July 2026, the OMODA & JAECOO Knysna Oyster Festival returns with 10 days of outdoor adventure, family fun, great food and high-energy sporting events under this year’s theme: “A feast of family fun”.
Whether you’re a trail runner, mountain biker, oyster lover or simply looking for an excuse to escape to the Garden Route, the festival packs plenty into one unforgettable winter getaway.
At the centre of the action is the Festival Hub at the Knysna High School sports fields — a lively space filled with food stalls, local crafts, live entertainment and a dedicated kids’ entertainment area where families can settle in for the day.

Adventure seekers can take on the iconic Knysna Forest Marathon and Knysna Cycle Tour, while nature lovers explore everything from fossil footprint hikes and rock pools to forest night walks, moonlight meanders and fynbos adventures. Families can cheer from the sidelines, join community fun runs, explore markets or simply soak up the atmosphere around town.

Food remains firmly at the heart of the festival. Think oyster shucking championships, wine tastings, forest feasts, bustling food markets and the wildly indulgent Dessert War Fair.

There are also football tournaments, art experiences, classic car displays and the ever-popular model railway and hobbies fair — making this one of the few festivals where muddy takkies, oysters and family adventures all fit comfortably into the same itinerary.
