South African rugby captain Siya Kolisi has joined Life & Brand Portfolio as a partner, expanding his relationship with the hospitality group behind several well-known restaurant brands, including Tiger’s Milk, La Parada, Harbour House and Old Town Italy.

The partnership will see Kolisi work alongside the group on brand development, culinary concepts and social responsibility initiatives. His involvement is also expected to bring a stronger focus on community upliftment, youth empowerment and sports development across the group’s restaurant portfolio.
The announcement builds on an existing relationship between Kolisi and Life & Brand, which has already included community-focused initiatives. One example is the First Cup Initiative, which used proceeds from warm beverage purchases at participating restaurants to provide nutritious daily breakfasts to thousands of vulnerable schoolchildren in underserved communities.
Trevor Wollheim, CEO of Life & Brand Portfolio, described Kolisi’s appointment as an important milestone for the organisation.
“Welcoming Siya Kolisi into the Life & Brand Portfolio family is a defining moment for our organisation as he represents the very best of South Africa, resilience, leadership and a commitment to uplifting others,” says Wollheim.
He added that the group has always aimed to place people at the centre of its dining experiences, whether through food, culture or community engagement. Kolisi’s personal values, he said, align closely with the company’s broader mission.
For Kolisi, the partnership is also about creating welcoming spaces where people can connect.
“Everyone has that place where they meet their friends, where they feel comfortable and can just be themselves. I love that Life & Brand creates those places. To join this family and help build more of that is something I’m really proud of,” says Kolisi.
Founded in 1998, Life & Brand Portfolio has grown into an established player in South Africa’s hospitality and casual dining sector. The group operates more than 30 restaurant locations nationwide, with a portfolio that includes a range of dining experiences.
Kolisi, a two-time Rugby World Cup-winning captain, is widely recognised for his leadership on and off the field, as well as his commitment to addressing social challenges in South Africa.
Through the new partnership, Life & Brand aims to bring his influence and personal story into its hospitality offering. The collaboration is expected to include consumer experiences and initiatives that reflect his interests in youth empowerment, community development and sport.
The partnership brings together South African hospitality and a shared focus on social impact, with the potential to extend the group’s community programmes while strengthening its connection with local audiences.
