A friendly bartender in a Mauritian resort once shared the secret recipes of his two favourite rum cocktails with me. I still have them, scribbled on a piece of napkin. Somehow, these cocktails are just not the same if you don’t make them with Green Island rum from Mauritius. If you’re on holiday in Mauritius, make sure you bring back at least two bottles of this lovely stuff – one of brown rum and one of white rum.
