Netwerk24 has reported that the body of missing Cape Town tour guide Wayne Barnard, 46, appears to have been found on Table Mountain after he went hiking alone on Wednesday. His family has reportedly been informed, while the circumstances surrounding his death have not yet been established.

Barnard had been missing since Wednesday, 16 September, after reportedly setting out to hike alone on Table Mountain. A search operation was launched after he could no longer be reached.
According to Netwerk24, a family friend confirmed to the publication that his body was found on Thursday, 17 September, at around midday.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Netwerk24 reports that police have not yet communicated the possible cause of death.
Police spokesperson Capt. FC van Wyk told the publication that a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Barnard’s disappearance prompted a search operation on Table Mountain as search-and-rescue teams worked to establish his whereabouts.
The news follows more than a day of searching for the missing tour guide, who was reportedly hiking alone when he disappeared.
At this stage, further details about what happened to Barnard have not been confirmed. The postmortem examination is expected to provide more information about the circumstances and cause of his death.
