12 things you should always pack when you go camping Posted by Taylah Strauss on 18 March 2022 Nature is unpredictable and you never know when you’ll find yourself in a tough spot until you’re in it. Here’s a list of items you should take with you when you go camping. Don’t underestimate Mother Nature Even if you’ve checked the forecast ahead of time and there’s not a cloud in the sky, you should always be prepared for rain. You need: A windbreaker A plastic bag to keep spare socks in Reliable shoes that can withstand harsh conditions Lights out Most campsites come with electrical supply but a power outage can occur at any moment. You need: A torch or LED headlamp Spare batteries Matches or a lighter to start a fire Follow the bread crumbs Even the most seasoned campers get lost from time to time. If you leave the campsite to explore, make sure you are prepared. You need: Water to stay hydrated A map in case your phone dies Dried fruit or protein bars to keep your energy levels up Basic first aid: disinfectant and bandages and burnshield Stop the leak Holes in a tent are basically a bright neon welcome sign for unwanted bugs and water. Patching up a small hole is relatively simple.
