Things to do in and around Sasolburg

Established in the 1950’s, Sasolburg is situated in the northern Free State and is renowned for being an industrial town. It owes its name to the petro-chemical industry.

The town and its surrounds boast a number of shops, restaurants and interesting activities. Here are just a  few things to do in and around Sasolburg:

Etienne Rousseau Theatre

The Etienne Rousseau Theatre is the place to be if you would like to enjoy some excellent performing arts. The venue has staged various distinguished local and international drama productions, operas and ballet shows.

Some world-renowned artists who have graced this theatre in the past include jazz and pop pianist Horst Jankowski, as well as American classical pianist Mark Zeltser. There are interesting musical shows and performances which take place regularly and are worth experiencing.

Located close to the banks of the Vaal River, the Heron Banks Golf Course is a lovely place to enjoy a good game of golf. The modern 18-hole course runs seamlessly through an estate and along the Vaal River.
