10 sperm whales died after washing ashore in the UK

Posted on 26 December 2020

Ten sperm whales washed ashore on a beach in Yorkshire, UK on December 24 and have since died. The animals were situated between Tunstall and Withernsea, according to The Independent.

Six of the ten marine mammals perished before assistance arrived, confirmed the British Divers Marine Life Rescue to The Independent.

The incoming tide made it very difficult and dangerous for members of the charity to help the remaining whales.
