Air Tanzania returns to SA with discounted fares Posted on 5 June 2019 Air Tanzania will resume flights to South Africa this month, giving South Africans easy access to places like Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. To kick off the route Air Tanzania, ‘The wings of Kilimanjaro’ will offer South Africans a special introductory fare starting at R4,322 (return), inclusive of taxes on the Joburg-Dar es Salaam and Joburg-Zanzibar routes for travel before 15 July 2019. Above the Shoreline – One of the most popular tourist activities on Zanzibar is offered by Safari Blue. After a swim at a sandbar, snorkelling and a visit to Kwale’s mangrove-rimmed coves, the dhows anchor for lunch and guests step ashore to feast on grilled crayfish, chicken and fish. The dhows quietly wait, bobbing in the aquamarine shallows as their deckhands nap in the shade. – Photograph by Teagan Cunniffe Flights between Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam (JNB-DAR) will begin on 28 June with four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Tambo International Airport and Dar es Salaam will enable connections to domestic destinations including: Zanzibar, Mtwara, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Iringa and other international destination such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Bujumbura and soon to be launched India on 17 July 2019.
