Temperatures dipped to below freezing across the province. Areas like Ceres, Matroosberg, Sutherland, mountains in Franschhoek and even Swellendam received bountiful snowfalls. Table Mountain Cableway published a video of heavy snowfall on the mountain at midday on Saturday, August 29.

Hikers and others on the mountain revelled in the sight, some even built snowmen. More cold weather is expected through the next week with plenty more rainfall.
