On 24 and 25 April 2026, Cape Vulture Nature Reserve will host the inaugural Manutsa Mountain Festival. The two-day event marks a notable step forward in conservation-led tourism in the region, blending nature, culture and education in a setting defined by dramatic escarpments and sweeping mountain views.
Positioned as more than just a music and lifestyle gathering, the festival aims to spotlight the importance of vulture conservation while demonstrating how responsible tourism can support surrounding communities. The reserve is home to one of South Africa’s largest Cape vulture colonies, making it a fitting backdrop for an event rooted in environmental awareness.
Visitors can expect a varied programme that balances relaxation with exploration. Wellness sessions, including yoga, will run alongside a curated craft market and a selection of local food vendors. Live performances are set to anchor the experience, with artists such as Jeremy Loops, Hannah Ray, Flying Bantu and Jahworx on the line-up.

According to reserve representative Ashley Lambert, the festival reflects a broader vision. It is designed not only to showcase the area’s natural assets, but also to drive sustainable tourism and deepen community involvement.
The programme begins on Friday evening with the opening of the camping village, followed by a candlelit acoustic performance and a silent disco under the stars. Saturday’s schedule expands to include conservation talks, family-friendly activities, arts and crafts, and live music on the main stage throughout the day.
For travellers, the festival offers a chance to experience a lesser-visited corner of Limpopo while contributing directly to conservation initiatives. It also provides a platform for local businesses, artists and producers, reinforcing the link between tourism and economic upliftment.
With its mix of mountain scenery, wildlife and creative energy, the Manutsa Mountain Festival positions itself as a fresh addition to South Africa’s outdoor events calendar. One that puts purpose alongside experience.
