“While our name is changing, our ownership, management, and dedication to exceptional guest experiences remain the same,” says Ruben Gooranah, General Manager of Time Square Hotel.
All existing reservations, contracts, and rates remain valid. Only branding and communications will reflect the updated name.
Time Square Hotel is also South Africa’s first property to offer three separate room gradings in a single building, approved by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA). Guests can choose from three-star, four-star, or five-star accommodations tailored to different budgets and preferences.
A premier destination for leisure, entertainment, and business

The three-star ‘Foundation Room’
Part of the Sun International portfolio, Time Square Hotel is Gauteng’s largest gaming, entertainment, and leisure hub, featuring a casino, multi-purpose arena, retail tenants, and a variety of restaurants, bars, and lounges. Families enjoy The Magic Company arcade and ten-pin bowling, while the Tick Tocks Crèche provides supervised childcare.
The adjoining SunBet Arena and hotel have hosted international and local performers, including Bryan Adams, UB40, Kenny G, and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance.
“Time Square Hotel deserves praise for its exceptional experience,” notes guest Roxy Janzen on Google Reviews. “Its prime location in Menlyn Maine places you near fantastic restaurants and directly attached to the lively casino. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully designed, and feature floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking Pretoria views. Room service was impressively fast.”
Rooms for every traveller

The luxurious five-star ‘Zenith Level’ room
All 238 rooms, including 10 suites, feature contemporary styling, comfort, and a warm welcome. Room grading differs by size, design, and finishes:
- Three-star Foundation rooms: 24m² with two single beds or a queen bed, work desk, and shower.
- Four-star Median rooms: 27m² with two single beds or a king bed, work desk, coffee machine, and shower.
- Five-star Zenith rooms: 36m² with two single beds or a king bed, desk, coffee machine, and separate bath and shower.
“The multi-tier concept lets travellers tailor their stay to their budget and preferences,” says Lesego Kitsa, Rooms Division Manager.
Guests in Zenith rooms also enjoy a premium breakfast buffet in the 12th-floor Luminary Lounge with city views, plus sunsets from the Solis Bar with its splash pool. The hotel gym offers 360-degree views of Menlyn and Pretoria.
Dynamic pricing ensures options for quick stays in three-star rooms, comfortable family stays in four-star rooms, and premium experiences in five-star Zenith rooms. Regardless of room grading, Kitsa emphasizes that service standards across the hotel remain five-star.
Time Square Hotel also offers value-added packages, including Date Night, Stay 3 Nights Pay for 2, and Senior Citizen deals, with the best rates available via the Sun International website.
Meanwhile, The Maslow Hotel in Sandton continues operating under its original name.
