In an official statement the city authorities expressed regret over the tragedy and offered condolences to the family. They confirmed that the park complies with all technical safety requirements and stressed that the man chose to enter an area that is clearly restricted to visitors.
The lioness remained secured in her habitat and did not require sedation. She is being closely monitored by veterinarians while park staff and investigators assess how the breach happened and what motivated the intruder to take such a serious risk.
The incident has renewed conversations around visitor behaviour, perimeter safety and the very real danger that wild animals present even inside carefully managed zoological environments.
