Your remote map of the city: Cape Town Edition

Posted on 11 September 2025 By Miriam Kimvangu

We live in a time where remote working has become a staple in the global work culture. Sometimes you work from the office. Sometimes you work at home. But what happens when you need to get work done and you need a third space?

Cape Town CBD offers refreshing alternatives to break the environment of a quiet home office. Here are some places. Here’s a curated selection of some of the best places to work remotely in the city that give you a balance of reliable internet and Cape Town charm.

Co-working Spaces

Craft+Graft

Craft+Graft is one of those places that manages to feel both professional and personal. The interior is clean with spots of character and with natural light pouring in through the large windows. The environment makes the space feel open and energising. Remote workers can choose between hot desks, dedicated spaces or casual day passes. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable and there’s even an in-house café for a caffeine top-up between meetings.

Four Corners

Four Corners is considerably quieter than some of the larger co-working spots, which is a big part of its appeal. The focus is on deep work. The décor is simple, modern and intentionally curated. Members enjoy access to high-speed Wi-Fi, ergonomic chairs and meeting rooms. Four Corners attracts a diverse mix of professionals, which can also be great for networking. It’s ideal for remote workers who need a quiet space with minimal distractions and maximum efficiency.

Cafés

Deluxe Coffeeworks

Deluxe offers a more simple setting. There’s no food menu here, just excellent coffee and a laid-back atmosphere. The space is small but welcoming and the Wi-Fi is strong enough for video calls. The baristas are quick and friendly, always ready to scratch your caffeine itch with a smile.

Molten Toffee

Even though it sits just on the edge of the CBD, Molten Toffee deserves a mention. With its large front window and local art on display, it’s the kind of place that is fuel to creative energy. The coffee is top quality, the Wi-Fi works without fuss and the atmosphere encourages both work and conversation.

Truth Coffee

This one is a favourite among digital creatives for a reason. Its industrial steampunk interior is dramatic and adds to the artsy atmosphere but more importantly, the Wi-Fi is free and dependable. The staff don’t blink twice at a laptop parked for hours over a single coffee. The café’s large communal tables make it easy to settle in and power outlets are easy to find.

Unique Spots

The Book Lounge

While this is primarily a bookstore, it offers a quiet downstairs reading area that is cosy and calm enough to work. The free Wi-Fi is steady and the space offers the opportunity for bookish breaks, surrounded by shelves of poetry, philosophy and fiction. There’s also an on-site café serving teas and light meals, making it a surprisingly productive nook in the city.

Labotessa Hotel

Labotessa provides a luxurious but low-key setting. It is definitely more upscale than all the options on this list, but the space is open to visitors and provides a quiet, air-conditioned retreat with reliable Wi-Fi and perfect service. It’s not a place to take a conference call or hold a meeting, but it provides the calm and quiet that deep-thinking projects deserve.

Public Libraries

Although not mentioned on the list, do not forget that public libraries are an option. You may or may not have a library card but many of them offer walk-ins and a quiet place to work. All you need to do is check what the rules are for your local library.

Sometimes all it takes is good coffee, steady Wi-Fi and a change of scene. In the Cape Town CBD, that’s never hard to find.
