Exploring the KwaZulu-Natal province is nothing short of interesting. Doing so through a camera lens is an even more fascinating experience.

Durban Botanic Gardens

Known as Africa’s oldest surviving botanical gardens, the Durban Botanic Gardens offer a diverse collection of plants from all around the globe. This spot is ideal for those who wish to capture the beauty of nature. Plus, the lush greenery makes for a beautiful backdrop.

Umhlanga Lighthouse

Built to warn ships of treacherous waters in 1954, the Umhlanga Lighthouse stands ready to be captured. The white structure, with its bright red topside band, is an attractive historic monument  which may add the life and colour your Instagram feed needs.

Durban Natural Science Museum  

The Durban Natural Science Museum is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. It is home to a variety of exhibits on natural history and is the ideal place to learn more about our planet. On display are flora and fauna from South Africa and beyond. The building itself makes for great photographs, and the inside is even more interesting.

The KwaZulu-Natal Society of the Arts

Located in the bustling area of Glenwood, the KwaZulu-Natal Society of the Arts is a paradise for art lovers. The modern art gallery has a number of relevant national and international exhibitions. Mzinyathi Falls is an absolutely spectacular scene. Although this waterfall is not easy to reach, those who conquer the dirt road leading up to it are rewarded with breathtaking views of the pristine green valley and images which boast the utmost beauty. Depending on the lighting and your photography skills, you may even catch the rainbow colours on the water’s surface.
