Although it was once a palace that was home to Kings of France, the art museum now welcomes over 8 million visitors each year.

Founded in 1929, the Museum of Modern Art is New York’s foremost museum for contemporary art. Within its walls, one finds a chronologically-presented art collection from the late 19th and 20th century.

Expect to go on a journey through Post-Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism and Pop Art.

There are also galleries for photographers, drawings and film. For those who prefer the magic of art merged with nature, there’s also a sculpture garden. 

Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam

Dedicated to the works of Vincent Van Gogh and his contemporaries, Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum is a must-visit. In 2019, the tourist attraction welcomed more than 2.1 million visitors.

Vincent Van Gogh is known for his productivity and unique art. At the museum, one can view 200 paintings and 500 drawings which form part of his exhibition. There are also drawings and letters which dive deep into the late artist’s depression. Moreover, one can find works done by the first generation of artists inspired by him.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York

Boasting a variety of interesting art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the world’s largest museums and a paradise for art enthusiasts.

It is home to over 2 million pieces of art, including Greek sculptures and many European paintings reflective of Medieval Europe and Ancient Egypt.

The museum was founded in 1870 and serves to bring art and education to the American people. So, prepare for an experience that is both inspirational and educational.

Shanghai Museum, China

The Shanghai Museum is one of China’s top museums. It houses a number of Chinese art masterpieces which date back to as far as the Neolithic period.

Upon visiting the museum, you will have the opportunity to walk through over more than 6000 years of traditional artwork in various media, including bronzes, ceramics and ink painting.
