Buffalos and rhinos tend to live in the same environments and compete for the same resources, so it’s surprising that they don’t clash more. These two giants of the savannah were sighted at the Kariega game reserve having a go at each other.
A male buffalo, which can weigh nearly 900 kg, went up against a much heavier white rhino, which can easily weigh in at more than 1.5 tons. So it’s fair to say that the buffalo always had the odds stacked against him.
The bull put up a good fight though, managing to somewhat stand its ground against the much larger rhino. Watch this sighting below.
