Heavy rains cause flooding in George

Heavy rains in George in the Western Cape have caused major flooding and damage to properties and infrastructure on Monday, 22 November.

This comes after a Yellow Level 2 warning for ‘rain resulting in localised flooding/flash flooding of susceptible settlements is expected along the south coast of the Western Cape,’ was issued by the South African Weather Service.

Gift of the Givers said their teams are preparing a full intervention and local emergency responders are doing what they can. Residents are urged to stay at home.
