After releasing a huge volume of water into the Orange River from the Vaal Dam, the Augrabies meter reading has continued to rise. The DFA, a local newspaper in the Northern Cape, reported that visitors will be able to enjoy this phenomenon for the next few weeks.
A cumec is a ‘cubic meter per second.’ For perspective, the Falls usually reach an average of 40 – 60 cumecs year-round.
Last year, after intensive flooding the Augrabies Falls reached 3 800 cumecs.
