A puff adder was spotted resting near the sand, catching the attention of onlookers and quickly making rounds online. The highly venomous snake is known for its excellent camouflage and slow movement, allowing it to blend easily into natural surroundings. While sightings like this are not common on busy beaches, snakes are part of the Cape’s broader ecosystem, particularly in areas close to mountains and nature reserves.

Always keep a safe distance from any snake, avoid attempting to move it and contact trained snake handlers if one is encountered in a public space.
