This March, WWF South Africa is inviting South Africans to celebrate Earth Hour with a relaxed evening under the stars. And it comes with a feel-good twist.
In partnership with Nedbank Limited and South African National Biodiversity Institute, WWF will host an outdoor cinema experience at the scenic Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden. The feature film is The Lorax, a timeless story that champions environmental responsibility and speaking up for the planet.
Taking place on Saturday, 28 March 2026, the event forms part of the “Biggest Hour for Earth,” encouraging people to reconnect with nature in simple, meaningful ways. Gates open at 4pm, with the film screening after 6pm.
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, arrive early and settle in for a laid-back evening outdoors. Food vendors will be available on site, while younger visitors can enjoy a dedicated activity area hosted by the Pretoria Zoo Club. It’s an easy, family-friendly outing that blends entertainment with environmental awareness.
A limited number of tickets are up for grabs through a giveaway.
