A search is underway on Table Mountain for 46-year-old Wayne Barnard, who has been unreachable since Wednesday morning, 16 September, after reportedly hiking alone in the area, Cape {town}Etc reports.

Crime Connect shared the missing-person appeal on social media, stating that Barnard was last in contact at 11:05am on 16 September after sharing his location and a photograph from Table Mountain.
His phone was subsequently switched off, and a missing-person case has been opened with SAPS.
SANParks Emergency Services are involved in the search for Barnard, while SAPS is also investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
The available information indicates that Barnard had been hiking alone when contact was lost. No further details about his movements after his last communication have been provided.
Barnard is described as a white male, approximately 1.91m tall and weighing about 90kg. He has brown/grey hair.
At the time he was last seen, he was reportedly wearing a khaki-green O’Neill puffer jacket, bottle-green cargo pants and black takkies.
