Bali has long been associated with a sense of peaceful paradise. Now, tourists can do their part to help local puppies rescued from the streets relax and have fun too, while they rehabilitate before going off to a new home.

Bali Dog Assocation and Puri Garden Hotel & Hostel have teamed up to bring tourists and homeless puppies together to benefit from one another’s good energy.

Guests can revel in the playfulness and fun of the puppies, which is proven to be a stress-reliever, while the puppies receive love and attention and get a chance to develop their social skills.

This will make them more relaxed around people, making it easier for them to find and adjust to a new home.

Twice a week for two hours, the puppies are free to run around in an enclosed play area. Here, they are safe from dangers such as the pool and get to enjoy time with guests, who entertain them with cuddles and dog toys.

A bed in a dorm costs R300 a night and a private ensuite double room starts at R900 a night.
